Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps operates a variety of programming in various locations across the Southwest. Each program model offers unique opportunities to develop professional and personal skills, gain certifications, and learn and work with the land.
Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps Programs
Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) engages motivated youth, young adults, and adults to complete challenging and impactful conservation and service projects throughout the Southwest region. Projects may include, trail construction & maintenance, habitat improvement, hazardous fuels reduction, re-vegetation and local environmental service projects. Crews may also complete technical and/or specialized projects depending on project partner needs, including disaster relief if the opportunity arises.
Wood For Life Firewood Program
Wood for Life (WFL) is a collaborative network of organizations including, National Forest Foundation, U.S. Forest Service, and ALCC in northern Arizona working to achieve common goals. The primary goals are to provide resources and a sustainable source of firewood to local tribal and vulnerable communities through forest restoration efforts; to reduce forest-wide fuels; and to foster and strengthen partner relationships.
