Programs

Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps operates a variety of programming in various locations across the Southwest. Each program model offers unique opportunities to develop professional and personal skills, gain certifications, and learn and work with the land.

Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps Programs

Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) engages motivated youth, young adults, and adults to complete challenging and impactful conservation and service projects throughout the Southwest region. Projects may include, trail construction & maintenance, habitat improvement, hazardous fuels reduction, re-vegetation and local environmental service projects. Crews may also complete technical and/or specialized projects depending on project partner needs, including disaster relief if the opportunity arises.

Adult Conservation Crews

Adult conservation crews perform challenging and meaningful project work at ancestral sites and public spaces across the western US. Members gain crucial stewardship skills, certifications, and experience while connecting with and caring for our lands.

Local adult crews work on in-community projects focused on local needs and priorities. Local crews contribute directly to the communities and nations in which they are based while acquiring professional experience and training.

The local youth model engages high school students in a variety of community projects and land-based learning opportunities. Over the summer, youth are led through a community-building experience while exploring potential career and life pathways.

Individual Placements (IP) are internship opportunities to work directly with agency and community partners to provide much-needed assistance and leadership in completing projects in a variety of disciplines.
